Running enthusiasts will go up and down the most beautiful stairs in Quebec to finish their race downtown.
The start and finish site of the Staircase Challenge will be at the Parc de l’Esplanade for the 2026 edition. Participants will go through all the staircases that connect the Lower Town and Upper Town of Quebec City. Alternating between a staircase to climb and a staircase to descend, the participants will cross around forty staircases for a total of 2,353 steps over 19K Fizz.

The starting and finishing site for the Stair Challenge will be at Esplanade Park for the 2026 edition. Those who would like to experience an introduction to stair training can participate in this approximately 9 km event that combines road running and stairs. A perfect challenge for newcomers with around twenty stairs, totaling 1,106 steps to conquer!

The starting point for the 2 Km Kids Race is on Sainte-Geneviève Avenue, not near the Tourny Fountain. You can walk there on your own by taking Saint-Louis Street and then turning right onto d’Auteuil Street. Or you can go to the information booth, and we will escort groups to the starting point of the 2 Km race.
