1.1 Refunds
Registrations are non-refundable, except in the situations specifically provided for in this registration purchase policy. Participants who are no longer able to take part in the event may request the transfer of their registration to another participant, subject to a $18 administration fee payable by the new participant, and subject to availability at the time of the request for transfer. A deadline for transfers may apply (see the section on changes and transfers below).
1.2 Registration error
In the event of an error during the registration process, for example, by registering for the wrong race distance, participants may request a transfer of their registration, subject to a change or transfer administration fee of $18 (see the section on changes and transfers below) and subject to availability at the time of the request for transfer. A deadline for transfers may be applicable (see the section on changes and transfers below).
1.3 Cancellation/postponement of an event
If an event is cancelled further to a decision by the organizer, all participants will receive a refund of the full amount they paid at the time of registration. If an event is postponed further to a decision by the organizer, participants may choose to receive a full refund or transfer their registration to the new scheduled event date (subject to availability at the time of the request for transfer).
1.4 Changes and transfers
1.4.2 Changing race distances
We allow registered participants to change race distances up to the deadline indicated online at www.jecoursqc.com (date subject to change without prior notice), all subject to availability at the time of the request for transfer. For all requests to change race distances and when applicable, participants must pay any difference in registration fees between the two race distances according to the applicable fees at the time of the change (less taxes and applicable processing fees indicated at the time of the change), in addition to a $18 administration fee for changing race distances as specified at the time of the transfer. Participants who choose to request a change to a race distance for which the fees payable at the time of registration are lower than the fees initially paid will not be refunded the difference in registration fees. A $18 administration fee for changing race distances will still apply as specified at the time of the transfer.
Participants who want to change race distances after the deadline for changing race distances has passed may only do so at bib pickup according to the schedule available at www.jecoursqc.com, subject to registration availability and the organizer’s approval. Bibs cannot be reserved for specific individuals once the deadline for changing race distances has passed. Registrations cannot be transferred to the following year.
1.4.2 Changing events
It is not possible to change events once the registration process has been completed. Participants who are no longer able to take part in an event may choose to transfer their registration to another person, subject to availability and the organizer’s approval. Registrations cannot be transferred to the following year.
1.4.3 Transferring registrations
We accept registration transfers up to the deadline for changes/transfers indicated online at www.jecoursqc.com, all subject to availability at the time of the request for transfer. If an event is full on the registration platform, participants will no longer be able to transfer their registration and any transfers among participants will only be handled at bib pickup according to the schedule available at www.jecoursqc.com,, subject to registration availability and the organizer’s approval.
Individuals who want to transfer registration on site must provide evidence in writing (on paper or on a device screen) that they have the initial participant’s permission to use the registration.
A $18 administration fee will apply to the transfer and be charged to the new participant. It is not possible to process a change of event distance and a change of participant in a single transaction. Recipients of a transfer of registration who also want to change race distances must do so in a second transaction (subject to an additional $18 administration fee for changing race distances).
1.5 Results
Results will be available on the Sportstats website—our race timing partner or on any other website of the partner responsible for timing that may succeed it. If a participant disputes his or her time, or if his or her time is not available, the participant is invited to contact the timing partner directly, as the organizer expressly declines all responsibility in this regard.
It is not permitted to run with someone else’s bib. The participant must participate to the event using the bid assigned to him at registration. Transfers not authorised by the organization are not permitted. The organizer reserves the right to carry out any checks (including identity confirmations) it deems appropriate or necessary under the circumstances, which could even lead to the disqualification of a participant, depending on the circumstances and the framework observed. The organizer’s decisions in this regard are final and without appeal. If a participant has chosen to run with another person’s bib or by sharing the completion of an event with one or more other participants and has been disqualified for this reason, his or her time will not be valid and will not be available on the site of the person responsible for timing, currently Sportstats. To be valid, all transfers must be done according to the procedure at point 1.4.3.
1.6 Wheelchair participants and visual impairments
It is possible for individuals with reduced mobility to take part in race events as the “co-runner” in a wheelchair duo, accompanied by a runner whose hands must be kept on the wheelchair handles at all times. For safety reasons, we are unable to allow individuals with reduced mobility to participate solo in any event; these participants must be pushed by another person, whose hands must remain on the wheelchair handles at all times.
Visually impaired runners may participate in an event accompanied by a co-runner.
If both participants (runner and co-runner) want a race bib and T-shirt, both must pay for registration. The runner must pay the full rate in effect at the time of registration, and the co-runner s entitled to a 50% discount on the rate in effect at the time of registration (subject to change at all times and at the organizer’s discretion).
1.7 Time limits and cutoff points
Participants are welcome to run or walk any of our events. However, at all events there will be time limits for each race distance. These times may vary from one year to the next. For current time limits, please check online at www.jecoursqc.com.
In addition to time limits, there will be cutoff points. Runners and walkers who do not pass checkpoints by the cutoff time will be disqualified from the race. Please check online at www.jecoursqc.com for information about checkpoints and cutoffs.
