Bus Boxes
Provided for information purposes only.
In two places on the course, participants in the Half-Marathon presented by WKND 91.9 FM and the SSQ Insurance Marathon will enter zones called bus boxes. These boxes are used to temporarily divert runners onto an alternative section of the course and allow vehicle traffic to keep moving. The alternative sections are the same length as the original sections and will not affect the distance covered.
Bus boxes have proven to be effective solutions for running events in urban environments around the world, including the San Francisco Rock’n’Roll Half-Marathon. Watch out for our flaggers directing runners into bus boxes on the course near Charest Boulevard and Quai Saint-André Street; they’ll make sure you go the right way.
