We would like to draw your attention to a unique feature of the new 100% Quebec route for the 21.1 km and 42.2 km Beneva events. At 4 places on the course as runners, you will cross traffic boxes:
- The Quai Saint-André
- 1st Avenue (opposite 10th Street)
- 18th street
These boxes are used to temporarily change the direction of your race in order to allow the passage of vehicles and thus ensure the fluidity of automobile traffic.
These traffic boxes do not affect your distance traveled. They simply divert you to an alternative section of equal and same length as the original section.
This method represents an effective solution to the holding of marathons in large urban centres.
Be careful when approaching these locations, signal agents will be on hand to direct you to the traffic boxes. Listen to them, it’s very simple and you’ll be fine!
Runners and walkers who fail to reach the following checkpoints before the time limit will be disqualified from the race:
- Checkpoint at kilometer 26 of the 42.2km at 12:10 PM
- Checkpoint at kilometer 32 of the 42.2km at 1:00 PM
- Checkpoint at kilometer 36 of the 42.2km at 1:30 PM
- Checkpoint at kilometer 39 of the 42.2km at 2:00 PM
Kilometre markers will be placed every kilometre in ascending distance order.
There’s a total of 8 400 places available for all races of this event.
