The results are based on the official time, in accordance with national and international standards.
Difference between the official time (Gun time) and Chip Time
Official time
The official time corresponds to the Gun time, which is measured from the starting gun that marks the beginning of the race.
It is the time elapsed on the clock since the start of the race.
Chip time
Chip time is the time from the moment the participant crosses the starting line and the chip on their bib is activated.
Except for participants at the starting line, there is generally a difference between the official time and the chip time.
The results and rankings are based on age on the day of the race, which is the industry standard and in line with World Athletics and Athletics Canada, as Athlétisme Québec recognizes records based on age on the day of the race.
